Philodendron Lupinum Corrugated Leaf Plant

$39.88

Philodendron lupinum is a truly unusual, ever-changing species that looks completely different as it matures. In its juvenile stage, it produces small, one to two inch leaves with velvety green tops and rich maroon undersides. At this stage, the plant stays compact and delicate, almost giving no hint of what it will become.
Once given a totem or vertical support to climb, the transformation begins. The foliage expands dramatically, reaching 10 to 12 inches in length, and shifts from soft and velvety to a glossy, lightly corrugated texture. Even as the surface changes, the maroon underside remains, creating strong contrast and depth.
Juvenile plants look nothing like mature specimens, which makes growing Philodendron lupinum especially rewarding. With proper light, warmth, and vertical support, it develops into a striking climbing plant that showcases one of the more dramatic leaf transitions in the philodendron world.
