Monstera Obliqua Filamentous Plant

$41.88

Monstera obliqua ‘Filamentous’ is a fast-growing climbing form of Monstera obliqua that develops an impressively skeletal look as it matures. While juvenile foliage begins more compact, this variety transforms quickly when given vertical support. The leaves become significantly larger over time, and the fenestrations expand dramatically. Compared to Peru-type forms, Filamentous matures much larger, with wider openings and a more open, lacy structure. The blade can appear almost threadlike between the veins, giving it that distinctive filamented appearance.
We are currently growing this selection on poles to showcase its full climbing potential. As it gains height, node spacing tightens and leaf size increases noticeably. Encouraging it to root into mulch or a moss pole accelerates this transformation and enhances mature foliage characteristics.
It is easy to cultivate in bright, indirect light with steady moisture and good drainage. As a very fast climber, it establishes quickly and produces rich green leaves with strong structure even at a juvenile stage. These are healthy, well-rooted tropical climbers that will continue to develop increasingly dramatic fenestration as they mature and climb. Outdoors 10a to 12b
