Queensland Pink Flame Tree (brachychiton discolor)

Breathtaking blooms of vivid pink petal-less flowers burst from the branches in massive clusters. Known to shed its leaves during the course of the year, the showy bell-shaped flowers appear as if out of nowhere. When young this tree boasts a stout green trunk that will slowly turn grey as it ages. Smaller in overall size, this tree generally matures at about 25 feet tall with an equal spread to the crown. With a compact root system, it is an excellent specimen for container growing in smaller urban gardens and patio collections.
