Japanese Fern Tree (filicium decipiens)

Striking tree with ornamental foliage. Probably the neatest feature on this tree is the winged stem holding the leaves, giving it a flat appearance. Pinnate leaves are shiny, bright green and can be up to 5 inches long or more at maturity. A small tree when fully grown, it typically never grows taller than 25 feet and has a dense rounded crown giving it a compact appearance and making it perfect for the smaller urban landscape. Known primarily for the foliage the Fern Tree does also bloom in small white flowers that develop into tiny, round, inedible berries. We think your deck or patio needs one of these!
