Amazon Custard Apple Tree Biriba (rollinia deliciosa)

A nearly rounded fruit with a thick rind and a knobby reticulated exterior that separates when fully ripe to reveal a mass of glistening, creamy-white, sweet juicy segments, ripens around November and is typically softball sized with a flavor reminiscent of sugary sweet custard. The pulp comes apart in segments each containing a small black seed that separates easily from the fruit. The trees begin to fruit at just one to two years of age, and they can easily be maintained at a height of eight to twelve feet making a great addition to any smaller tropical landscape or warm urban area where space is limited.
