Edible Fruit and Flowers – Pineapple Guava is a unique, highly underutilized, cold-hardy, fruiting, small tree or shrub. Aromatic, edible blooms have sweet perfumy, tropical flavors. Delicious oval shaped guava fruit, one to two inches in length, offer up a complex pineapple-like flavor. For an amazingly tasty dessert, we often pick 20 to 30 fruits, cut them in half, place them on a cookie sheet, lightly coat with honey or sugar and bake for 20 minutes at 310F degrees. Let cool and serve in a bowl with a drizzle of cream. Simple and Delicious.
