Australian Firewheel Tree (stenocarpus sinuatus)

Spectacularly stunning display when in full bloom. The bright red whorled flowers of umbels in a circular formation, cover the entire canopy of the tree in a mind-boggling display during the summer. Flowers are evenly disbursed through the heavily lobbed bright green leaves, that also glow a gentle maroon when new growth sprouts. Firewheel tolerates a wide range of soils and conditions including dry periods once established and grows in an erect fashion to 20 -30 feet high and has a trunk diameter of about 30 inches. This is a highly ornamental and sought after tree for the tropical garden.
